What to wear to an office Christmas party?
It's definitely dressier than jeans - but not black tie or anything.
I really don't want to be overly "festive" - no Santa Claus sweaters or anything like that! LOL
We live in the South - so it will be chilly - but not too cold.(Atlanta.)
The party is at the owner's home (mansion.)
I am THINKING of wearing a gray straight skirt that comes to my knees - with black hose of course. Black boots that come to my knees. And a dressy white blouse - with French cuffs & sparkly buttons. Over that I am thinking of wearing a dark purple on purple embroidered velvet jacket. Or perhaps a black & gray paisley velvet jacket.
Any suggestions!???!

I like the tartan plaid idea - a tiny bit for an accent would be cute & festive.
All those sound good. But if it's in the south, in a nice part of Atlanta (Buckhead?) and Christmas time, you will do well to dress up. Maybe try a little red tartan plaid? If it's an office party but at the owner's home - dress to impress. Be conservative but festive. It will show respect and enthusiasm.
