how many small/medium sized tropical fish could i put into a 55 gallon tank?
let me know, i know there is an estimated 1" per gallon rule, but I know that certain fish produce a certain amount of waste. let me know your suggestions.
Let me know of some cool community small/medium tropical fish that produce a low amount of waste, because I want my tank to be vibrant in color and life. I hate looking at tanks with 5 fish and a few rocks. So boring.
yup, 1" of fish per gallon "rule" is a LIE!
well, some small low waste producing fish are:
small schooling fish- neon tetras, rummynose tetra, pencilfish
livebearers- guppies (males are just beautiful ;]), swordtails, platies, goodeids
betta fish (yes they can be kept wth other fish)
rainbowfish
dwarf gouramis
flagfish
also, all of these fish may be housed together with no problem and are peaceful community fish
of course, you cant put them ALL in the tank! but you will have to choose and do LOTS of research before buying any fish! these IMO are really colorful
