Things to know about braces? best answer.!?
okay, hi. I just got some braces (they are sexy, all hot pink and lime green.) and I think I need to know some things. I was supposed to watch videos on it, but I didn't have time. when I first got them on, they were not sore AT ALL. I loved it and expected the best. I guess now they hurt when you bite down, I've only had icecream after I got my braces on. they hurt like spacers would though. so, does it get really sore the next morning? how do you "thread" and floss? when does the sore go away (for you)? what did you eat? any tips or advice? ten points.:D <3
I'm 47 and I've had my braces for a year and a half now. I found that taking a tylenol before my appointments helps to keep the soreness down. They will hurt for a few days after the appointment, and then again about three days before the next appointment.
After my appointment I limit myself to soups and soft food that won't gum up in the braces like bread and pasta.
You should talk to your orthodontist about proper flossing and brushing. You will need to keep your teeth super clean while you have the braces on. Keep a baggie with your wax, toothbrush, and a small bottle of mouthwash in your backpack or purse.
