I'd like to have a career in print modeling. But how? I don't have any professional photos.?
I've tried promomodels.com, instantcast.com and coachmodels.com and so far, I haven't found a way in to that industry. I'm 22 and I know I have the face and physique for it, but I think because I have no experience, no one will take me, and I have been applying like crazy under all three sites!! I've also wanted to try acting...as an extra or something. Anyone know the best way to go about it?
You can send passport-type photos off to agencies. They would rather see you without make-up or hair done than have a crap local rip-off photographer studio one. Theywant to see what you have to work with, so send a picture of your face, and a full body shot to them.
You can get a photographer to do shots of you for your time, so you swap your time for his. Again, no moneyshould change hands. If you have what it takes, someone will spot it, you just need to get your face into the right hands. So, get a list of agencies, and start sending out pics to them with contact detalis and your measurements.
You should ont be paying for any photos, even when you are taken on by an agency. Any agency that asks you to pay to increase your protfolio is taking you for a ride. If you do need to increase your portfolio, any agency worth its salt will either pay for your photos to be done, or will do a deal with a photographer that needs experience to swap your time for theirs, so you get pics of yourself, and the photographer gets pics to put in his portfolio.
