Juliet Renaissance

How was life during the renaissance?

Or at the time of Romeo and Juliet. Men and women differ?? What Is there life in general for men and women?

The majority of the population during the period of the "Renaissance" would was to make a living by farming, people in general had their own small farms, they praised the lord, has increased production for their own use and sold the surplus, grazing their animals on common land. Men and women generally have different roles. The man took care of livestock, the woman would be responsible for dairy and poultry, which makes its own butter and cheese, beer brewing (Commonly drunk instead of water) spinning wool and flax son, storing food for winter. It would also be expected to of home remedies for the whole family may suffer ailments. A housewife's work was very demanding at the time. If a woman has been married to a merchant or a craftsman of some kind, then it was usually involve din her husband's business, whatever and some women have been in business for themselves. Single women woul doften domestic work until they are married, or they may work as a single (spin has always been women's work), or be apprenticed to various other trades. upper class people often married very young, sometimes their early teens (as in "Romeo and Juliet" for example). Among the common people, it is more usual to marry in their mid-twenties, when a couple could afford to set up their own households. upper-class marriages are often arranged, although that love stories are not unknown "person had no objection to love as long as the price was right," as Alison Plowden puts it in "Tudor women. The church was opposed to forced marriages, but they have sometimes taken place without a doubt, if you read the Paston letters For example, you can see how Mrs. Paston beat his daughter for refusing to marry the man her parents chose for her. The common people chosen more often their own marriage partners. Boys and girls of the upper classes were often educated at home by tutors. In the time medieval, it was very common for young people to be returned to be raised in other households nobles. They learn to read and write, sing and music, horseback riding and hawking, and playing chess and backgammon. The boys were educated in the use of weapons, and girls would learn to sew and manage a household. In cities, there were schools that provided a primary school education to boys and girls, and high schools, there were some who were generally only for boys. Education in a school consisted mainly of Latin grammar (hence the name) in the 16th century Greek also became a popular subject, and some time was devoted to mathematics and music. Mostly though it consisted of learning Latin and Greek, and was probably very dull school day was long, the holidays were short, and discipline was severe, the boys were beaten not to know their lessons. Some boys can go to university, schools that were mostly exclusively male, but it seems that in Italy it was possible for girls to participate in some universities. The boys who went to high school would be especially have been the son of tradsemen, traders and farmers. The more than one household, the more responsibility a woman would have when she married, as it can be expected to look after the welfare of his servants and his family, and monitor their work and perform many tasks itself. it would also be expected to manage the family property when her husband was away at war or at court, as he would very often. Whatever its class, it was expected that women would be obedient to her husband and respect him. A man must have a good head of household and care for the welfare of his wife, his children and servants. Most married women could expect to have a large family, and be pregnant fairly frequently. The midwife was a significant figure in medieval and modern society. Childbirth was an exclusively female Occasionally, friends would gather at her mother for support in his test, men have never been present when she gave birth. The mortality rate of mothers and infants was high. Children have been strictly implemented and should be respectful and obedient their parents. Children from poor families would be expected to be helpful when they were old enough. This does not mean they do not loved, or shown affection, but the kids were supposed to do what they said. At the time of "Romeo and Juliet" in Italy, some boys become monks, nuns and girls. In England, the Reformation in the 1530s destroyed the monasteries and this option was longer available. It was possible to get a good education in the monasteries, monks and nuns and some scholars have been remarkable. Music and dance have been very popular with all classes during the period of the late medieval and early modern or Renaissance, and Italy, the Commedia del arte plays both men and women as actors, but in English theaters parts women have always been taken by boys (Acting was not considered a respectable profession at all). Games such as bowls, bowling, tennis, archery were popular, as was the struggle. People also liked the blood sports such as bear bait-and cockfighting. Holy Days are generally holidays, though many of them were deleted after the Reformation in England and people had far fewer days off. Pilgrimages have been popular with everyone, they have the opportunity to visit various shrines and see different places, in addition to being good for the soul. Rome course was an important center of pilgrimage.
