What is the best way to get the smell of cigarette smoke out of an evening gown?
I'm a non smoker so its driving me crazy!
If you don't want to wash the dress hang it on a coat hanger to maintain the shape then hang it outside, on the washing line if you have one. As long as you don't leave it out in the rain, after a few hours the fresh air will have taken all of the cigarette smoke smell out and left it smelling clean and fresh, better than covering it up with another stronger smell.
I do this with my dresses and coats etc, things that can't be washed easily and it removes soke smells or restaurant smells and doesn't make the rest of your room/wardrobe smell bad.
