What percent should you tip a cocktail waitress for bottle service at a club?
if your bill is $800 what should you leave for tip for 10 people?
is 20-25 % to much?
i dont think so but somone else is telling me thats way to much!
I know most people tip more for mixed drinks than beer bottles since the bartender didn't do anything. However if you have a separate waitress you guys ran her ragged with $800 of drinks brought to you and a table of 10 probably held up the table most of the night, stopping her from turning over as many tables and getting as many tips.
Remind your friends that the cocktail waitress has to tip out the bartender for all those drinks and the hostess. 15-20% is average which is why most places do a group gratuity of 18%. 25% if you recognize that your table was a lot of work--more than average--or left the table very messy. What percentage does your friend want to leave? Sometimes I want to leave less when I constantly had to go to the bar to get my drinks. If I don't feel the waitress ever came by, didn't bring us our meal, or we had to ask someone else to get our check b/c no one had seen the waitress, I would probably leave less. Is your friend trying to suggest that you lower the tip due to poor service?
However if you leave less than 10% tip, typically you should have a word with a manager about why you felt the service was especially bad. I've left very low tips before but it was after I spoke to the manager on why the waitress didn't bring our food and never gave us a refill, or the check.
