What is the name of the Turkish dance when men wear white dresses and just circle in one spot?
I'm writing a paper about the Turkey and I wanted to research more about one of their dances, unfortunately I don't know what its called. I just have a visual reference for itwith men wearing a white dress, red fez and their heads are back and they just circle.

It is an Islamic sufi ritual called sema' belonging to the house of Mevlana (aka Rumi) who lived in Anatolia 7-8 centuries ago. It has high symbolism, all steps are calculated and formalized, and everything done has a special meaning (the position of hands, the color of dress and cap, ...) . This ritual is certainly different from others. It has changed over time, as well, with every generation.

I wonder why some people get bothered when someone calls this ritual/dance Turkish. It is done in Turkey, pretty much all (most likely all) of the practicers of Mevlevi sema' and followers of Mevlana are Turkish. Unlike for Iranians, for Turks, Mevlana and Haci Bektas-i Veli are not just some lines in some list of names to boost their national pride or whatever. They define the spirituality and humaneness of Anatolia along with other utterly wise men like Yunus Emre, in a way that transcends time.
