Honestly the whole white wedding dress thing is fairly modern. A few hundred years ago it was very common for brides to get married in deep jewel colored dresses. A lot of designers now have many colored dresses. Some designers also make bridesmaid dresses that are just as elaborate as wedding dresses ( P.C.
